Alpha Geoscience provides experts to analyze and evaluate the causes of physical property and natural resource damages. Alpha’s senior-level personnel have the necessary experience to identify, evaluate, and weigh the importance of multiple and diverse sets of environmental information. The forensic analysis consists of detailed review of all available information and data to address issues of the source and age of contamination, changes in the physical property, and the allocation of costs with respect to damages.
Forensic analysis may involve interpreting historical photographs, sampling site materials, analyzing environmental data, interviewing knowledgeable personnel, researching historical records, and evaluating all available information in order to interpret the causes of damage in the context of the site history.
Forensic services are often provided in conjunction with expert opinion and testimony. Alpha works with attorneys and experts in other technical fields, as necessary, to develop the conceptual understanding of damages and to assign liability to parties responsible for actions that may have caused the damage. The following tasks may be part of a typical Forensic Site Analysis and Investigation.
- Compile and organize all existing physical and environmental site information, reports and data.
- Develop an understanding of the site history and the changes in site use and ownership.
- Identify and evaluate the consistency, discrepancies, and gaps in the site data and information relative to the documented site use and operations.
